Protocol for What's On? and Lodge News sections

The aims of the Lodge News and What's On? sections of the website are:

  • To provide Warwickshire Lodge (and other orders) members with up to date information about news in Lodges, etc, around the Province
  • To provide a notice board for Lodges to advertise their own special events where they seek support from a wider audience
  • To enable Lodges, etc, to submit reports about events that have taken place

(Items which will only interest Members of a particular Lodge or locality would not normally be considered as appropriate for the website.)

Editorial guidelines

  • All items should pass the "legal, decent, honest and truthful" test and be in accordance with the Internet Code of Practice.
  • Copy may be submitted to the Provincial Information Officer at the addresses and email addresses on this website.
  • All submissions should contain the name and contact details of the person submitting it and be dated.
  • Copy may be received in any form but electronic media is preferred.

How to submit news and events items

All copy must be approved by the Provincial Information Officer. This will be achieved by all copy being routed to him. Once approved, he will then arrange for it to be posted on the website.

News and events items can be sent to him in an email or as an attachment, by writing to him at the Provincial Offices - see here for contact details.

Please send photographs as separate files, rather than embedded in the body of a Word document.

Please note that attachment file names should not have spaces in them (use_underscores_instead) and should be kept short.

Photographs of people may not be published without their written permission. If children appear, the permission must be from their parent/guardian. Permission from copyright holders must be obtained on all occasions.

We cannot guarantee that any item submitted will be published and you should allow plenty of time if you need the item to be published in advance of an event.

Please check all spelling and contact details included in the item as no responsibility can be accepted for errors.

No editing of content will be done for you, unless necessary for legal or grammatical reasons. Remember, all articles published are in the Public Domain and must not contain any sensitive, private or confidential information.

Please note that we have temporarily removed the Submission Form to reduce the incidence of misuse until we can find a suitable solution.
