The Annual Service of Remembrance, held at The Clarendon Suites in Edgbaston, again saw over 200 Freemasons, their families and friends, including several past and present members of the armed forces and youth groups, together with Royal Arch Lodge Representatives.
In a slightly revised format, which included a reading of the Roll of Honour from the original memorial stone laid to commemorate those brethren from the Province who died in the Great War 100 years ago, this moving Service was conducted by the Provincial Grand Chaplain, W Bro John Cowan and Provincial Assistant Grand Chaplain, W Bro Paul Wheeler. The Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro David Macey delivered the Acts of Remembrance and Commemoration, with the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, VW Bro Michael Morris reading the Kohima Epitaph after the Last Post had been bugled at exactly 11.00am followed by two minutes silence and Reveille.
Wreaths and tributes were placed by the Provincial Grand Master and other senior members of the Province, as well as leaders of different orders and several other individuals and groups from the congregation, spanning several generations, including former and present servicemen who are members of Lodges in Warwickshire.
