The Fraternity Lodge 4032 annual Sunday Lunch in October took place at an unusual venue – aboard the “Pride of the Midlands” leisure cruise boat along the River Severn.
The event had been brought forward slightly from it’s usual autumn date in order to avoid possible disappointment from the weather, and a glorious warm and sunny day with clear blue skies proved this to have been a shrewd move.
WM elect Dr Andy Thompson and Marie were excellent hosts and a superb lunch ensured that all present enjoyed a convivial and relaxing afternoon, as can be seen from the photographs.

Gold Medal for John
Long standing Treasurer of Greville Lodge 4773, W Bro John Shaw is well known in wider circles around his home town of Warwick. For the past 21 years he has been Chairman of the town's Royal British Legion branch. Under his tenure the Warwick Poppy collection has raised nearly £500,000
John stepped down as Warwick Chairman after this year's Remembrance Service to take up a new role within the Legion, that of Vice-Chairman for Warwickshire county.
In his final act as Chairman John presented long service certificates to other members of the branch at the Remembrance Day Luncheon and received a heart warming thank you speech from the Lord Lieutenant of Warwickshire, Mr. Martin Dunne
In recognition of his efforts to date he was presented with the Legion's prestigious 'Gold Medal', of which there are only 3 other living recipients within the whole of England.

W Bro Bob Ballard was in the Chairs of Peace and Unity Craft, Royal Arch and Mark all at the same time. He is the first to do this, and will be the last since the Craft Lodge has now handed in its warrant.
Helping Birmingham Children's Hospital
The Lodge of the East and West 9785 raised cash for the Neurosurgery Unit of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital at their Ladies Festival held earlier in the year. In June, the Festival Secretary and the Master of the Lodge, W Bro Ramesh Sethi and W Bro Raj Sethi, presented a cheque for £650 to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Charity donations to the hospital are usually utilised towards the purchase of much needed life saving medical equipment as well as buying toys and games for the playroom – a very worthy cause!
