Birmingham Children's Hospital receives further support from the Famous Five
Following last year’s donation to the Hospital, the Provincial Grand Lodge of Warwickshire was recognised as one of the “Charity Champions”, a further donation of £10,000 has been made to the Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
The hospital has chosen to support a current Appeal to raise £700,000 towards an upgrade to the Emergency Radiology Suite, which is in need of total refurbishment. Our donation will help to fund a brand new digital x-ray system, with wall-mounted oxygen equipment, whilst also creating a proper reception and a family friendly play area. Coming to the Emergency Department is often a child’s first experience of hospital, and this will help that traumatic time to be as positive and friendly as possible.
A vast amount of information can be found on http://www.bch.nhs.uk/ and on their fundraising site http://www.bch.org.uk/ These websites are well worth visiting, containing far more information than could possibly be summarised in this short article.
The photograph shows the cheque being presented to the Head of Fundraising Louise McCathie – the balloon in the centre of the picture identifies the Provincial Grand Lodge of Warwickshire as one of the Hospital's Charity Champions.
