Game, Set and Match for Acorns

A Matched Funding Scheme is operated by the Freemasons' Grand Charity, which will match donations to a charity nominated by a Province, to which the Province has already made donations during the current year. The Acorns Hospice received a donation of £5000 in February 2013 from Provincial funds, which the Grand Charity agreed to match.

£18,559,874

This is the value of financial support made in 2012 by the four central Masonic Charities (The Freemasons’ Grand Charity, Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys, Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution and the Masonic Samaritan Fund), distributed to 5073 beneficiaries.  

A report showing the values of the grants made and the number of beneficiaries for each charity by Province over the last 12 months can be seen here.  It covers all 48 Provinces, and shows Warwickshire's total benefit at £229,764, as well as the total value of the grants for the past 5 years. 

£192,000 for Air Ambulance Charities

The Freemasons' Grand Charity has announced its first large grants for 2013 - £192,000 for air ambulance charities. Freemasons have been a regular supporter of air ambulance charities since 2007, donating £1.3 million in total to twenty-two rescue services. Every air ambulance in England and Wales has received funding.

Grand Master at Croydon Opening

The Grand Master, HRH the Duke of Kent, KG, officially opened the Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution’s fully refurbished, state-of-the-art care home at James Terry Court in Croydon at a ceremony with the Mayor of Croydon Councillor Yvette Hopley for residents and distinguished guests from the Masonic community.

Horrible World for DCs

It has become an established custom within the Provincial Grand Directors of Ceremonies Lodge 9620 for their June meeting to include dining with ladies and friends, more recently including visits to different attractions around the Province.
