Warwickshire Installed Masters’ Lodge 4538 welcomed UGLE Deputy Grand Secretary, VW Bro Graham Redman as their guest speaker, at a meeting attended by the Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro David Macey and some 250 other brethren, held in the Clarendon Suites.

In thanking VW Bro Graham for his talk the Master, W Bro Chris Grove MBE acknowledged him as the senior authority on Masonic Etiquette and all present showed their appreciation with an extended round of applause.

At the magnificent festive board (which was the largest meeting so far accommodated by the new caterers) a cheque for £1,035 was given to the Deputy Grand Secretary, in favour of the Royal Masonic Trust for Girls and Boys, together with a memento of the evening.

Further details about the evening can be seen on the lodge website at  www.wiml4538.com in the “Latest Meeting” column.

A very special evening for our hard working Provincial ADC W Bro Alan Ellis took place when his nephew Lee was installed as Worshipful Master of the Upper Thames Lodge 6138 in the Province of Surrey, exactly twenty years to the day after W Bro Lee’s father (Alan’s blood brother) was installed.

Alan had obtained permission from the Provincial Grand Masters of both Warwickshire and Surrey to deliver the address to the newly installed Master, at which stage one of the nine members of the Ellis family present occupied most of the offices within the Lodge.

There were 110 Brethren present in the Temple, including Assistant Provincial Grand Masters from Surrey and Hampshire, Warwickshire Senior Warden Peter Manning, Junior Warden John Harris and Tyler Ian Hart, together with ten Grand Officers. Bros Dennis Wright and David Jefferies from Alan’s own Lodge of Equity 5554 (of which he has been Master three times) also attended the event and all present enjoyed the special occasion and the festive board, returning home afterwards in a very happy mood.
