No Peace at Serenity's 100th

Coventry's Summer Lodge, The Lodge of Serenity 9312, celebrates its 100th meeting starting at 6.15pm on Wednesday 18th June 2014 at Coventry Masonic Heritage Centre, 165 Warwick Road, Coventry CV3 6AU. This meeting date coincides with the 199th anniversary of The Battle of Waterloo.

To mark both events the lodge is hosting an informative and illustrated talk on the battle by W Bro Tim Burgin of Lodge of Israel 1474. We are led to understand there will be swords and muskets involved...

This is intended to be the first annual Serenity Lecture, and the evening will consist of a short formal lodge meeting followed by the talk.  The festive board afterwards will continue the theme and is open to guests.  Festive board is £22 to include table wine.

Any Brother who would like to attend, or who requires further information, should please contact W Bro Lee Haggan This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Birmingham Old Edwardian Lodge 7115 saw Past Deputy Provincial Grand Master VW Bro Alan Wellan inducted as their Master for the second time, his seventh as Master of a Craft Lodge in Warwickshire.

Currently meeting at the Clarendon Suites in Edgbaston, the Lodge draws its members from the King Edward VI School Foundation in Birmingham and numbers many illustrious freemasons, including Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master W Bro Richard Jaffa, who was appointed Senior Warden, and Past Grand Superintendent for the Royal Arch in Worcestershire, VW Bro Richard Price as Junior Warden.

At the festive board following the meeting, where an excellent meal was provided by the new caterers, the Presiding Officer, Assistant Provincial Grand Master W Bro John Emms, was delighted to greet the Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro David Macey, who was attending Orion Lodge 4993 in the same building and who had briefly called in to toast and wish VW Bro Alan well, suggesting with his usual humour that the new Master was full of potential and will go far!

One of the highlights of the evening was a rousing rendition of the School Song by all members present.

Barnard Lodge 5100 is pleased to announce that at their meeting on Tuesday 13th May 2014, W Bro Michael Squires will be giving a talk entitled “A Visit to AMD Week:  Differences between US and UK Freemasonry”.

AMD Week is a highlight of US Masonry, a five-day Homeric Odyssey of meetings, lectures, dinners and degrees, with some 18 US Masonic Bodies being represented on the programme.

Following Michael’s trip to Washington in February to attend the 2014 edition of AMD Week, he will use the experience gained to explain AMD Week for the uninitiated, illustrate some of the differences between US and UK Freemasonry and state why, in his opinion, all serious UK Freemasons should attend at least once in their Masonic career.

All Brethren are invited to attend the talk which will be both informative and entertaining.

The meeting will take place at the Masonic Hall, 60 Severn Street, Birmingham B1 1QG, commencing at 6.00 pm.
