Happy Did They Meet

Happy Did They Meet

Nov 30 2012 1:40 AM

Happy have we met, Happy have we been, Happy may we part, Happy meet again.

This, according to Ladies Night Secretary W Bro Carl Walker, nicely summed up the Ipsley Lodge 6491 Ladies Night held at the Ardencote Manor Hotel, Claverdon, which was presided over in a relaxed and friendly fashion by the Worshipful Master Bro Mark Banner and his good lady Jackie.

The charity collection made for Scotty’s Little Soldiers raised £500.

A full summary of the event can be seen on Ipsley Lodge's website here

The Deputy Grand Master, RW Bro Jonathan Spence is the guest speaker at the Warwickshire Installed Masters Lodge 4538 meeting on Friday 30th November 2012, the title of his talk being “The Joys and Experiences of a Deputy Grand Master”.

We toast him at every meeting but the vast majority of our Brethren don’t really know who he is so here’s a golden opportunity for them to find out without travelling to Grand Lodge in London!

All Masons, including Entered Apprentices and Fellowcrafts are invited to attend this rare occasion, after which they will also be welcome to dine if they wish.

The meeting will commence at 5.30pm and the cost of the meal is £24.50 (inc wine) which should be sent to the Assistant Secretary, W Bro Simon Beckett before Thursday 22nd November.

Lewis at Last

Assisted by the Master W Bro Bill Sylvester, W Bro Andrew Warwick initiated his father Ernie into Meridian Lodge 9003 at Guys Cliffe, thereby making himself an instant Lewis.

At an excellent meeting with many visitors, the chapel being full, Andrew conducted the first part of the Initiation, with Director of Ceremonies W Bro Bob Bynt completing it and the Master delivering the Charge to the Initiate.

Ernie has been a frequent visitor to Meridian's social events with his wife Joce who recently died. He decided that as he knew most of the members that he would love to become a member at the age of 83.

He was an excellent candidate during a wonderful ceremony, and was a little bit overcome after receiving the toast to the initiate from his son Andrew.
