At the Acorns Children’s Hospice 2013 Annual General Meeting and Members’ Day held at Villa Park, Birmingham, CEO David Studley announced the formation of a new community and fundraising group for the Stratford-upon-Avon and District area.

Their aim will be to raise the profile of Acorns across the area covered by South Warwickshire (excluding Warwick & Leamington) where Acorns is less well known despite supporting the community’s children along with their families.

The group has been founded by Bro Ivan Smart of Greville Lodge 4773 and local entrepreneur Mrs Alix Hay who brings a wealth of experience in local community involvement.

Ivan commented "For once we are not asking for your money. I would like to reach out to the Masonic community in the Stratford, Shipston and Alcester areas for support in establishing the group. We are asking for people to give no more than an hour a month to help plan a small number of local events that over time we can build to a substantive force to aid this wonderful charity". If you feel you could offer your support, please contact Ivan on 07967 190856 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
