A Blaising Woodfield Year

Aug 15 2012 12:31 AM

What a year it’s turning out to be for W Bro Pete Woodfield, Master of The Lodge of St Blaise 6113 and founder of the Quest Club. The club  was established to “have a go” at different sports and has raised many thousands of pounds for charity over the last 30 years.

Pete was installed into the chair of St Blaise for the third time in November 2011 and at the Provincial Meeting in May this year he was promoted to the rank of Past Provincial Senior Grand Warden.  Later that month at a successful Ladies Evening the sum of £1,200 was raised for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

He was an Olympic torchbearer in Wolverhampton in June, having been nominated by members of his Lodge.

He will be off on 25th August, with the Quest Club, on a charity cycle ride of nearly 900 miles to Birmingham’s twinned cities of Frankfurt and Leipzig in aid of Cancer Research.  The ride is to celebrate the Quest Club’s 30th Anniversary on 30th September, which is also Pete’s 65th Birthday.  A Presentation Evening will take place on Friday, 21st September, which is the night before the 2012 Festival Dinner which Pete will be at too.

To round off his memorable year, in November Pete will install W Bro Martin Fowkes, his oldest friend, as Master of the Lodge. The two have known each other for 60 years. Stories about the various events which have taken place during Pete's year as Master can be seen on the Lodge website www.lodge-of-st-blaise-6113.masonic-lodge.org.uk/

Anyone wishing to sponsor the charity cycle ride can do so by either texting Quest64 £? To 70070 or online at www.justgiving.com/questcycle
